«The same day, every day» is a film project that arose during visits to three prisons in Bolivia a few months ago.
As part of my work in the communication area of ITEI, I was authorized to enter to take photographs of the workshops «Dancing, opening cracks of freedom», spaces for corporal expression through Afro-Latin dances, directed by Soraya Gautier Guillet, as part of a project created by ITEI and financed by E-changer (Switzerland).
The purpose of these workshops was to generate processes of well-being, recovery and reparation, aspects that are often denied to persons deprived of liberty.
During the photographic recording process, naturally, the impulse arose to capture the motor energy through video.
In those moments, I was aware that music and dance create a kind of parenthesis in everyday life. Moreover, suddenly, I realized that, in a marginalized space, such as prison, there are also the possibilities of joy, of individual and collective pleasure.
We share this teaser in order to call on the interest of people who are aware of the harsh reality of prison and to request their financial support to make this project a reality.
